William R. Lonardo

William R. Lonardo, 85, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Moretta) Lonardo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Serafino and Palmarosa (Imondi) Lonardo. Mr. Lonardo worked with his brother at M. Lonardo Painting Co. for many years, before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was the beloved father of William R. Lonardo, Jr. and Rosemary Crocker; cherished grandfather of Michael Joseph Carroll and Alyssa Rose Carroll; and the beloved brother of Rev. Alfred C. Lonardo, Grace Lonardo and Dolly Lonardo. He was the brother of the late Armando, Serafino J., Albert, Michael, Edward, Eva, Elia, Celia, Margaret and Marie Lonardo. His funeral will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. VISITATION TUESDAY 4-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
