William M. Esser, Jr., 82, of Bristol, formerly of North Providence, passed away Wednesday July 19, 2017 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William and Coral (Tanner) Esser. William was a construction laborer for the H. Carr Construction Co. before retiring in 1971. He served in the Air Force during the Berlin Airlift. He was also an AA sponsor who was involved in the prison ministry. He was an avid boater, loved the beach, and especially enjoyed spending time in Newport. He is survived by his son, William A. Esser and his wife Loreen; two daughters, Cheryln Sleem and her husband Stephen, and Gail Faraj-Musleh and her husband Fouad; a sister, Harriette LeFebvre; 8 grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was the brother of the late Coral Daigle and Betty Ann Esser. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
