Viola M. DeLuca

August 1, 1925 — February 18, 2017

Viola M. (Almonte) DeLuca, 91, of Johnston, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. DeLuca and mother of the late Stephen and David DeLuca. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Christina (Santucci) Almonte. Mrs. DeLuca was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church and a member of the St. Ann Sodality of Our Lady of Grace Church. She loved her family and enjoyed playing tennis, volleyball, bingo and cards. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Fragose and her husband Joseph; a brother, John Almonte; six grandchildren, Anthony DeLuca, Jessica Brayton, Charlene DeLuca, Jason Fragose, Allegra DeLuca Petruccelli and Christina DeLuca; six great grandchildren, Robert, Bailey, Gabriella, Paris, Jacen and Jaxon; and two daughters-in-law, Donna Ricci and Teresa DeLuca. She was the sister of the late Alfred, Raymond and Americo Almonte, Emma Slaimen, Gina Perrotta, Phyllis Lisa and Ernestine Russo. Visitation will be held Thursday Morning, February 23, 2017 from 8:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
