Velma Beaulieu, of North Providence passed away August 28, 2026 surrounded by her loving family just 7 days before her 96th birthday. She lived a long and wonderful life that should truly be celebrated.
In her younger years, Velma loved to travel and spent many summers in Vermont. There she would help tend to her uncles farm. She also spent a lot of time in New York and Pennsylvania. Every week her and her mom would go to watch a movie followed by a local band. She always spoke so fondly of those times.
When she was 23, she met her husband, Ernest, at work and quickly fell in love. They married three months later in 1954. They started a family, having five children together, not to mention a lifetime of beautiful memories that she cherished.
Velma loved to play bingo and go to Atlantic City, but her favorite was the bus trips to Turning Stone Casino with her friends.
Velma was always the life of the party. She had the best sense of humor and wasn't shy to tell a sometimes off color joke. Everyone who knew her loved that about her. She was always doing something to make people laugh. That was who she was. She would stike up a conversation anytime she was given the chance. She could meet someone in line at a store and have their whole life story by checkout.
She will be missed very much by the Friday night craft crew. Even if she wasn't always doing the crafts, she was very much part of the crew. They loved her like a second mother.
Velma loved spending time with her great grandson's, who meant the world to her. They will always love and miss their GiGi.
Velma is survived by her daughter Donna Beaulieu, her three sons, David Beaulieu (Lyly), Daniel Beaulieu (Deborah), and Dennis Beaulieu (Amy). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Pamela Ricci (Joseph Belluscio), Amanda Brockway (Andrew), Daniel Beaulieu, Dennis Beaulieu (Hannah Duffy), Elcira Ramirez Cordon, Luca and Joseph Beaulieu and 4 great grandchildren, Luca, Lincoln, Logan and Madison. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Beaulieu, her daughter Debra Ricci (Vincent) and her brother Edward Butler.
A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. A charity close to her heart. https://www.stjude.org
