Umberto Iacono

Umberto Iacono, 98, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at West Shore Health Center.  He was the husband of Anita (Silvestri) Iacono for 64 years.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Lucia Iacono. Mr. Iacono worked for Jeans, Inc. and was Deputy Treasurer for the City of Providence before retiring.  He was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II.    Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Thomas U. Iacono and his wife, Diane; two daughters, Elizabeth Bush and her husband Stephen and Margaret Samuelian and her husband Leon; and five grandchildren, Ashton Bush, Amanda Samuelian, Brittany Bush, Jesse Iacono and Sara Iacono.  He was the brother of the late Frank, Pasquale, Vincent, Geno and Frances Iacono and Lucy Delponte. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 4 - 7 p.m. in the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence.  Burial will be Private.
