THOMAS R. MUSUMECI., 85, of North Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 21, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Tucker) Musumeci. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Domenica (Cardente) Musumeci.
Mr. Musumeci owned and operated Masi Construction and Real Estate Development Company for many years before retiring in 2004. He was a former U.S. Veteran. An avid horseman, he constructed the first exclusive equine hospital in New England. As a member of the RI Builders Association, he was instrumental in establishing the Boys and Girls Club of North Providence. He also served as chairman of the North Providence Zoning Board of Review. Thomas cherished time with his family and friends and enjoyed days spent at his horse farm with his beloved nephew Alan Musumeci.
He is survived by his loving children, Thomas Musumeci, Jr. and his wife Karen, Robert Musumeci, Steven Musumeci and his wife J’ossyan and Diane DeCesare and her husband Vincent, Esq.; a daughter-in-law, Livia Musumeci and sisters, Rose Mesolella, Lena Ferrara and Evelyn Ricci. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Justin, Sierra, Liam, Luc and Grey Musumeci and Vincent and Alexandra DeCesare. He was the brother of the late, Salvatore, Armando, Anthony and Louis Musumeci, Catherine Warburton and Anna Fascitelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 26th at 11am at St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins St., Providence. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
