Samuel Assanti

July 3, 1927 — February 14, 2006

ASSANTI, SAMUEL “POPPA SAM”. 78, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Roberta (Houde) Assanti. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Raffaele and Concetta (Comella) Assanti. He had lived in North Providence for the past 30 years.

Samuel had been a jewelry worker for varies companies for over 50 years. He was a member of the Acorn Social Club of Providence and enjoyed playing cards and watching sports on TV with his friends. He was an Army Veteran.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Sam J. Assanti; a step-son, Richard Houde; three brothers, Angelo, Raymond and Richard Assanti; four sisters, Betty Ferranti, Rose Nardozza, Vera Russillo and Toni Scopelliti; 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.He was the step-father of the late John T. Houde and the brother of the late Anthony, Ralph and Robert Assanti, and Concetta Assanti Silva.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. VISITATION Thursday 6-9pm. Burial at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Donations made to the family would be greatly appreciated.
