Ronald R. Ricci

January 25, 1932 — March 8, 2017

Ronald R. Ricci, 85, of North Providence, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.  He was the beloved husband of the late Joan E. (Tetrault) Ricci.  Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Guisseppe and Angelica (Ballestrino) Ricci. Mr. Ricci was a toolmaker and production manager at Ostby & Barton Co. for 30 years.  He had a short career in Real Estate and then went to work for Package Services Inc.  After retirement he purchased a flower business, which he ran from his home.  Later he worked at Solois Dairy Store.  He was an acolyte and greeter at St. Thomas Church for many years.  He had many interests and hobbies which included attending the various activities of his grandchildren, music, gardening, bicycling, wine making, ballroom dancing, and many road trips.  He loved animals.  As his yearbook states, "He was a friend to all he met." He was the devoted father of Ron, Eleanor, Mark, Philip and the recently departed, Christopher A. Ricci.  He also leaves his dear daughters-in-law, Pam (Rogers) and Laurie (Spyrka) Ricci; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchlidren; and his brother, Orlando Ricci.  He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Oliver, Vincent, Carmine, Ralph, Anthony and Alfred Ricci and sisters, Angelina Barone, Nicolena Almonte and Anna DeFusco. His funeral will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence.  Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. VISITATION WEDNESDAY 4 - 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Ricci's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.
