Robert J. Tullo

August 4, 1942 — October 26, 2022

Robert Joseph Anthony Tullo was born in Providence, raised in Cranston and resided in Cumberland, Rhode Island before making Delray Beach, Florida his home nearly 30 years ago. Bob passed away on October 26, 2022 at the age of 80, with family at his side.

He is survived by his two sisters, Maria Licker of Los Angeles, CA and Diane Bergantino of Laguna Niguel, CA, seven nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and nephews, godchildren, cousins and many close, lifelong friends. All will remember him forever for his loving devotion to family and to friends.

Bob attended La Salle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island. He began his career as a stylist at Glemby International and worked his way up to vice president. In Florida, Bob enjoyed a second career in real estate with Berkshire Hathaway, turning many clients into good friends.

Bob’s first and lifelong passion was the horses. He was the proud owner of Kimberly Prince and Broken Circle, both of whom were among the beloved thoroughbreds he raced in Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maryland. He loved sailing, music - especially Barbra Streisand - poker and homemade Italian food: his mother’s Pasta Fagiole and unfrosted egg biscuits, his Aunt Francis’s Easter Bread and his friend Paula’s meatballs and chicken cutlets were among his favorites.

Bob’s life was defined by the many anonymous acts of kindness and generosity born of his humble spirit. With no immediate family living in Florida, he spent his Christmases volunteering. He organized toy drives at his work and with local businesses. and would spend weeks wrapping toys before delivering them on Christmas morning to children without families.

Robert Joseph Anthony Tullo will be laid to rest at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island with his mother Vincenza Tullo, father Michael C. Tullo and brother Michael C. Tullo Jr. There will be a St. Ann’s Cemetery chapel service followed by a graveside prayer on November 19th at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to ReRun Inc. to support off-the-track thoroughbred horses or His House Children’s Home to honor Robert’s devotion to these causes.
