Richard J. McCoy

Richard J. McCoy, 86, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Briarcliffe Manor, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Mary A. (Muscatelli) McCoy for sixty years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James and Mary (Stopyra) McCoy.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his brother, Eric McCoy and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Marjorie Lincourt, Barbara Gargano and William McCoy.

Richard loved life and was an instructor for AT&T for many years before retiring. He loved traveling, bowling, photography and loved to dance. He was also an avid dance instructor for many years.

Richard was adventurous, always ready for the next experience, and had an incredible sense of humor. He was always telling jokes and making the people around him laugh. Richard had a way of lighting up every room he walked into, and he always tried to see the best in every situation. He will be remembered for his big personality, kind heart and the love he had for his family. Most of all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, brother, and uncle.

Richard will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The memories, laughter, and love he gave will remain in the hearts of those who loved him forever.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street North Providence. His funeral will be held on Thursday, August 20th 2026 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10 a.m. at Saint Pius Church, 240 Eaton Street Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
