PAUL DEGLI ANGELI, 83, of Providence, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn J. (Cifelli) Degli Angeli. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Mariano and Esther (Ricci) Degli Angeli.
Paul was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, serving honorably on the USS Albany (CA123). Following the war, he was a barber for 67 years and owner of Paul's Hair Salon for 17 years. He had also worked as a water treatment operator for the City of Providence for 11 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 60 years, achieving the rank of 4th Degree Adams Assembly, and was a Past Grand Knight of Dillon Council Knights of Columbus in North Providence. He was also a Scoutmaster for the Boys Scouts of America, Troop 53, St. Pius V.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Paul A. Degli Angeli and Steven J. Degli Angeli; a daughter, Lisa A. Brodeur, and five grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Thursday February 16, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION Wednesday 4-7 p.m.
