Sgt. Owen O'Neill, Jr.

Sgt. Owen F. O'Neill, Jr. (Ret. P.P.D.), 90, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Tina (Argentina Fiorentini) O'Neill. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Owen O'Neill, Sr. (Ret. P.P.D) and Elizabeth (Melville) O'Neill.

Owen served on the Providence Police Department for 35 years before retiring as a Sergeant. He was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed working in the yard, planting different types of flowers and a few tomato plants for his wife's kitchen.

Owen is survived by his niece Kerri Lapierre (Jeff); nephew, Marc Senerchia III (Rory); Godson, Edward Thomas Myette; and his great nieces and nephew, Juliana, Lyndsie and Kylie Lapierre, and Sydney and Marco Senerchia. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Mark Senerchia.

Visitation will be held Monday Morning, June 3, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in Owen's memory may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
