Mary (Califano) Raso, 103, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Raso, with whom she shared 74 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Providence, Mary was the daughter of the late Michele and Mary (Marchetti) Califano.
Mary worked at Peerless Department Store before spending many years at Sal's Bakery, where she remained until her retirement. She found great joy in cooking, especially for those she loved, and treasured every moment spent with her family.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Sturtevant; her sisters, Rose Califano and Anna Cotoia; her cherised grandsons, Jason Sturtevant and his wife, Christine, and Eric Sturtevant and his wife, Helena; and her treasured great-granddaughters, Olivia and Parker Sturtevant.
She was the mother-in-law of the late Russell Sturtevant and sister of the late Gaetano, Jack, and Anthony Califano, Madeline DeClemente, and Josephine Gemma.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Church, 30 Warwick Avenue, Cranston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
