Maria “Josie” DeFusco-Silvestro (Pugliese), 94, of Cranston, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Silvestro and the late James DeFusco. Born in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Marino) Pugliese.
Josie was a devoted mother who leaves a legacy of love.
She is survived by two sons, Richard and Nicholas C. Silvestro; two daughters, Norma M. Caldarone and Lydia Sweeney; a sister, Evelyn Neri; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Dolores Carnegis and the sister of the late Helen Greneri, Gilda Fortin and Emma Toone.
Her funeral and burial will be private.
