Maria C. Asermely

MARIA C. ASERMELY, 56, of North Providence, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 16, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Asermely. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Mary (Gallucci) Biondi and the late Antonio V. Biondi. Maria was a stay at home mom who became the first in her family to complete college, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Rhode Island College at the age of 39. While going to school, she worked as a crossing guard for the Town of North Providence. Because of her love for children, she became an elementary school teacher for the Providence School Department. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Alex T. Asermely; her daughter, Lauren F. Asermely; two brothers, Peter Biondi and Antonio V. Biondi, Jr., and three sisters, Gina Biondi, Francesca Fleury and Virginia Bradley.
