Madeline T. "Lena" Amitrano, 99, a lifelong resident of Providence, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Cedar Crest Nursing Center. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (D'Ambra) Amitrano.
Lena was a clerk at Imperial Knife for many years. During World War II, she worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Providence and also worked at the Eclipse Syrup Company for several years.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine DeVoll, and her many cherished nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John J. Amitrano, Frank Amitrano, Vito Amitrano, Nicholas Amitrano, Teresa Amitrano, Susan Greh, Angelina Amitrano, Mary Steinbrink, Concetta Amitrano and Liberine Keedy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
