Lorraine Tammelleo, 68, formerly of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at HopeHealth Hospice, Providence. She was the wife of the late Earle Tammelleo, her friend and companion for over forty years.

Lorraine was the daughter of the late Felix and Beatrice Marinelli. She is survived by her siblings, Cheryl Broccoli, Felix, Larry, and Michael Marinelli.

She leaves behind her beloved children, Earle Tammelleo and daughter-in-law April, Carla Carello and son-in-law Tony, and Natalya Tammelleo. She was the proud grandmother of Aiden and Olivia Tammelleo, Anthony “AJ” and Santina Carello, and two step-grandchildren, Jonathan Tracey and Connor Perry.

She was a trusted friend to many, to a special few, more like a sister or mother. All that were blessed to know her would say she was kind, thoughtful, and caring, but also one of the strongest women they knew. She never went down without a fight. Even in her last years with an illness that had no cure she fought harder and longer than anyone could have imagined.

Lorraine lived by a code “family first” that was ingrained in her as a young child in a large Italian family. It was obvious to those around her that she believed in that code wholeheartedly. She also learned at a young age that food was the best way to bring family together, which is why she became such a great cook. She hosted many holidays and countless Sunday dinners for family and friends, sometimes even strangers that just needed a good meal and good people to enjoy it with.

She instinctively put herself aside to meet the needs of others. She was a selfless woman. Lorraine took advantage of her innate ability to help those in need by becoming a beloved special education teacher assistant in the Johnston School Department for thirty years before retiring. She helped hundreds of children with special needs by treating them with love, dignity, and compassion.

She opened her home and her heart for as long as the Lord allowed. This is not the end for Lorraine, she was a believer. While she waits for her loved ones on the other side, the impact made by this special woman will live on in the hearts and minds of those she touched as long as they shall live.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
