Loretta P. McKittrick

Loretta P, McKittrick (Ponte), 78, of Providence, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Norman R. McKittrick. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Sadie (Medeiros) Ponte.

Loretta's love of the written word led her to teach English as a second language in Iran, subsequently earn a Master's degree in English Literature from Rhode Island College, run an advertising business, craft poems, and win Scrabble games. She relished teaching Writing at local colleges, and being a Rotarian and Providence Art Club member. When words escaped her in later years, she danced and laughed with those who cared for her.

She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Guglielmetti and her husband Matteo, Dana Helm and her husband Kasra Kasraian, and Amanda Gonzales and her husband Nikolai; and seven grandchildren, Jake Guglielmetti, Justin Guglielmetti, Liddy Kasraian, and Gabriel, Bella, Sophie, and Amelia Gonzales. She was the sister of the late Rose Martin.

Visiting hours will be Monday, November 15, 2021 from 10-11 AM at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Prayer Service at 11 AM.
