Loreen A. Corona - Russell, 72, of Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving daughter and family. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Russell.
Loreen was born on July 3, 1953 in Providence, RI. She was the daughter of the late Pasco A. and Lucy M.(Amicarelli) Corona. Loreen was the quintessential girly-girl growing up, loving all things hair and makeup. You’d rarely find her without her hair done to perfection and her lips perfectly painted in a cherry red lipstick. Loreen was known by all as one of the nicest and most caring people you could ever meet. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who crossed her path.
She had a deep love of music and found pure joy in dancing whether at a family gathering, a concert, or simply at home. Her laughter in rhythm were contagious.
Loreen was employed at the United States Postal Service as a Lead Sales Associate. She dedicated many years to Stop & Shop and the USPS, where she was a trusted, friendly face who served her community with pride, patience, and a smile. Loreen was loved universally by her USPS colleagues and especially cherished by her countless customers that she served for over 40 years. Her dedication to her customers was evident by the amount of thoughtful cards, notes and gifts she would receive from her customers throughout the years. Loreen was attentive, compassionate, and kind hearted, often putting others before herself.
Above all, Loreen deeply loved her family, and at the center of her heart was her daughter Charissa
— the light of her life. Their relationship was more than just mother and daughter; they were best friends, constant companions, and each other’s greatest support. They were always checking in on one another, offering help, sharing laughs, and lifting each other up through every stage of life. The love between them was unshakable — rooted in trust, deep affection, and the kind of connection that only grows stronger with time.
Loreen leaves behind one daughter, Charissa N. Russell, a step-daughter Michele Addison, three siblings, Donald Corona, Michele Cappalli and David Corona, three grandchildren, four great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Loreen is predeceased by her grandmother Anna Antenucci, her brother Michael Corona and sister Ann Marie Corona.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 9:00 am. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Ave., Providence. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visitation Monday 4-7 pm.
