Leonora "Nora" Varone
March 1, 1927 — November 2, 2022
Leonora “Nora” Varone, 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Golden Crest Nursing Centre. She was the wife of the late Edmund Varone. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Alice (Peluso) Cirelli.
Nora worked in jewelry manufacturing for many years, before retiring from Providence Metalizing.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her cherished daughter, Judy Santos and her husband, Eddy; three grandchildren, Alexander Reis, Raquel Reis and Laura Morris; and her three great-grandchildren, Jayda, Raiden and Sophia Nora. She was the sister of the late Edward Cirelli, Edith Romano, Mary Sisto and Lucretia Oliviero.
Visitation will be held Wednesday morning, November 9, 2022, from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins St., Providence. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nora’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
