Joseph Annaldo, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 91 years young surrounded by his closest family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arniboli “Nibbles” Annaldo and Elizabeth (Trofa) Annaldo. He was the husband of Gailia Rutan-Annaldo.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Linda Grant and Christopher Annaldo-Mignone (Jackie); his stepchildren, Theresa LaCasse (Roland), Christina Cole, Kathy Lepore and Keith Barrows (Carol); his brother, Larry Annaldo; his grandchildren, Kayla Grant, Samantha Lepore, Vincent E. Lepore III, Logan Mignone, Ryven Mignone, Christopher Cole, Andrew Cole (Linda), Susan Phillips, Victoria Auzenne and Rebecca Giovannacci; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anthony “Sonny” Annaldo.
Joe retired from General Electric in 1991 after 30 years of service as a machine operator, but he didn’t stop there. He carried on working a myriad of jobs like door-to-door sales, driving cab, serving writs as a constable, and he was the jack of all trades at Village Motors where everyone agreed he was the most popular man around. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Providence.
He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather who was known as the glue of the family and for insisting everyone gather for birthday dinners.
Joe grew up on Federal Hill and returned frequently throughout the years, always dressed to the nines, to wine and dine at his favorite restaurants.
He took great pride in his holiday decorations and loved entertaining children whether dressed as a vampire or Santa Clause. Fun loving, comical and animated are just a few words used to describe his larger-than-life personality. He was a generous man and always helped those in need.
