Dr. Jerry M. Kheradi, MD, FACG, age 84, of North Providence, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, surrounded by the love and presence of his cherished family.
A man of deep intellect, compassion, generosity, humor, and unwavering dedication, Jerry was the beloved husband of Celeste (Beaudette) Kheradi, his partner in life and love for 44 extraordinary years. Their bond was a testament to enduring devotion, resilience, and shared joy.
Born in Yazd, Iran, to the late Mehraban and Morvorid Kheradi, Jerry’s life journey spanned continents and generations. He pursued his medical degree at Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, completed his medical internship and residency in New York, and pursued a fellowship in gastroenterology at Rhode Island Hospital. A Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Kheradi cared for the Rhode Island community for more than 30 years in private practice, serving patients in both gastroenterology and internal medicine. Known for his brilliant mind, gentle manner, and extraordinary bedside manner, Dr. Kheradi was a trusted physician and a beloved figure to colleagues, patients, and peers.
Admired by colleagues for his honesty and leadership, he served on the Credentials Committee at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and was President of the Rhode Island Gastroenterology Society. Upon retiring, he donated his office suite to Tri-County, a charitable organization that transformed the space into a state-of-the-art dental clinic serving underprivileged children and families. He continued his lifelong commitment to service as Chairperson for Funds and Finance for the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America for more than a decade. He spoke eight languages, he was a gifted, intelligent, and hardworking physician who dedicated his life to helping others.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jerry was a joyful man who traveled the world, unfailingly kind and generous, and focused on lifting people up wherever he went. He hosted the best summer family parties at his home, cooked legendary chili, and made everyone feel welcome at his table.
Jerry was the heart of his family, a loving and devoted husband, a proud and guiding father, a doting grandfather, and a loyal brother. He is survived by his wife, Celeste; his beloved daughter, Delara Lungen, and her husband, Matthew; and his treasured grandchildren, James and Ava, who brought endless light and pride into his life. He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Farangis Izedian and Manijeh Nadjmi, and her husband, Dr. Bruce Nadjmi; along with sisters-in-law Homai Kheradi and Teresa Kheradi; and a large extended family of devoted nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will carry his memory forward with love.
He was predeceased by his cherished brothers, Rostam and Sohrab Kheradi, whose memories he held close to his heart.
Family and friends are warmly invited to honor Jerry’s life during visitation on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. He will be laid to eternal rest at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.
