Janet Dixon

Janet Salvatore Dixon, 69, of Providence, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Roger Williams Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul F. Dixon.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Anita (Gelsomino) Salvatore. Janet was still employed as ateacher’s assistant at Nathan Bishop Middle School in Providence, where she was dedicated to mentoring her students.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, Janet is survived by her loving children: Audra Dixon, Ryan Dixon and wife Laura, Bradford Dixon and wife Lutdavone. She was the cherished grandmother of Lashawn, Francesca, Aubriana, Kapri, Everest, Loic, Pierce and Levi, sister of Steven, Paula, Lisa and Danny Salvatore. Janet was also the much loved sister-in-law and aunt to many in her large family.

Our mother was the steady center of our family, the unseen force that held us together with love, strength and unwavering presence. As a mother, grandmother and friend, she gave endlessly, always being there, always lifting others, always making space for us to feel seen. Her amazing and selfless spirit remains with everything she touched.

A prayer service for relatives and friends will be held Saturday, February 28, at 11am in Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting hours will be Friday, February 27, from 4-7pm at Maceroni Funeral Home.
