James P. Keane

August 14, 1923 — April 26, 2018

James P. Keane, 94, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.  He was the husband of the late Lillian (Dawson) Keane and father of the late Margaret May Keane.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James and Mary (Cull) Keane.  A construction foreman, James worked for D.F. Pray Construction before retiring and was a member of Laborers Local 271.  He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from 1941 to 1945 and was a member of the VFW Lymansville Post 10011.  He is survived by his seven children, Jeanne Keane O'Connor, James, Daniel and David Keane, and his wife Traci, Linda Greaves, Denise Lee and Mark Matheu; three grandchildren, Stephen and Daniel O'Connor and David Michael Keane; and two great grandchildren, Colin and Nora O'Connor.  He was the brother of the late Edward and Leon Keane, Mildred Bishop, Anna Mae Breen, Margaret Riley and Alice Norton.  Visitation will be held Saturday Morning, May 5, 2018 from 8 - 9 a.m. in the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
