Guido C. Zampini, 92, of Providence, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at home. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Cerce) Zampini. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Lucia (Vigliotti) Zampini.
Guido was the owner and operator of the former Zam’s Service Station in Providence for over 40 years. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was an avid Yankee fan and a handyman who loved to fix things. He also loved to garden.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Anthony M. Zampini and Robert E. Zampini and his wife Mary V. Zampini; two granddaughters whom he adored, Katie Zampini, age 11 and Rachel Zampini, age 9 and a sister Marie Hawkes. He was the brother of the late John, Louis, Ida and Concetta Zampini.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. VISITATION Friday 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
