Geoffrey Moore Driscoll, 58, died unexpectedly in Providence, RI on April 5, 2025. Geoffrey was born in Tarrytown, NY in 1967, the third son of Catherine Moore and William Driscoll. He grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. As a young boy, he sailed and played tennis, was an altar server at St. Stanislaus Koska Church, and was an avid curler and skip. He graduated in 1985 from South Kent School in South Kent, Ct.
After high school, Geoff earned a degree in culinary arts from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. He worked for numerous restaurants, catering companies, and institutions throughout his three decades in kitchens, including Rivermead Retirement Community in Peterborough, NH. Geoffrey loved cooking and was proud of the food he produced, though he acknowledged that cooking was both highly stressful and physically demanding. He liked to remind people that, “there are no chairs in kitchens.”
Geoffrey is survived by his four brothers and their partners: Nicholas, William and Bill Quigley, Sean and Judith, and David and Patty B. He is also survived by his double first cousins; Margaret Stamatis, Eleanor (Nell) Crook, Anne Driscoll, and Catherine Driscoll, and his nieces and nephews: McKenna, Seán, William (Will), and Catherine (Dede). A memorial service will be held at a later date.
