Evelyn S. Tomasso (Pieranunzi), 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Home & Hospice Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Tomasso.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Oresto and Yolanda (Falchini) Pieranunzi.
Evelyn was employed as a riveter at Quonset Shipyard during WWII and later worked at her mother’s Jewelry Shop, EP Jewelry and at Alexander’s Restaurant before her retirement. She was also a member of the St. Jude Society at St. Agnes Church, Providence. She loved being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Gail Tomasso and her partner, John Puleo. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Claire Nadeau and Dianne Piccoli and brothers, Ernest and Richard Pieranunzi and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gene Pieranunzi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday Decenmber 2, 2013 at 11am in St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham St., Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude Society at St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., Providence 02904.
