Evelyn R. Merolla

August 23, 1928 — January 26, 2017

EVELYN R. MEROLLA (PEZZI), 88, of Johnston, passed away at Roger Williams Medical Center on Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Domenic A. "Tom" Merolla. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James and Carmela (Larco) Pezzi. Evelyn worked for many years as a bridal consultant at Bride's Showcase and later at many other fine dress shops. With a smile on her face, she bravely fought the effects of dementia for many years. Everywhere she went she made friends. Her joys in life were her family, golfing at Alpine Country Club and going out on a Saturday night with Tom and their friends. Many thanks to daughter-in-law Joanne and the wonderful neighbors who helped watch over her. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Merolla and his wife, Joanne and Stephen Merolla, with whom she lived; and her daughter, Joan Rallis. She is also survived by grandchildren; Kevin Rosato, Kelly Brooks, Jennifer Merolla-Tardibuono, Thomas Merolla and Christopher Merolla, along with four great grandchildren; also a sister, Elena Amoriggi. She was the sister of the late Raymond, Edward and Vincent Pezzi as well as Angela Iannazzi and Mildred Bursie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours respectfully omitted.
