ELEANOR P. (LOFFREDO) CUNHA, 95, of North Providence, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Cunha. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Maria (Martellini) Loffredo.
Eleanor was a wonderful wife and mother and enjoyed her weekly jaunts with her two best friends. She loved playing cards, bingo and always had a jigsaw puzzle in progress. Eleanor was a very social person and an active member of the North Providence Democratic Women’s Club, the Lymansville Women’s Club and the North Providence Senior Center. She was the first female tax collector appointed in the Town of North Providence, retiring in 1983.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Walsh and her husband Kenneth and Laurie Bain and her husband Bruce; one sister, Pauline LaFauci. She was the loving grandmother of Heather, Kenneth, Eric, Marissa and Jason and was the loving great grandmother of seven. She was the sister of the late Arthur, Sylvester and Edward Loffredo, Evelyn Montanaro, Melba Collins and Gloria Verardo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Interment will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting Hours Respectfully Omitted.
