Doris I. Sykes

Doris I. Sykes, 87, of Providence passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of the late Robert R. Sykes. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Irene (Kohler) Major. Doris was a jewelry designer and artist for the former Weingeroff Company for 16 years. She had a passion for painting and was an avid Patriots fan. She is survived by her two daughters, Dorenne O'Hara and Deborah Jackman; two granddaughters, Bethany and Lindsey O'Hara, and a great-grandson, Jackson Carson. She was the sister of the late Russell and Edward Major, Alice Madsen, Florence Mason and Gloria Verrier. Visiting hours will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 8:30-10:00 a.m followed by a Prayer Service at 10 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston immediately following.
