Donna Maria O'Dea

November 14, 1954 — October 16, 2023

Donna Maria (Mekuto) O'Dea, 68, passed away peacefully at home after a prolonged battle with cancer on Monday, October 16th, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late Anthony A. Mekuto, Sr. and Dolores (DeAngelis) Mekuto of Johnston, Rhode Island, and the second born of 6 children, Anthony Mekuto, Corrinne Mekuto, and she will be welcomed by her sister Annette (Mekuto) Wilson, and brothers Robert Mekuto and Paul Mekuto who have predeceased her.

Donna is survived by her beloved daughter Jacqueline O'Dea, son-in-law Dale Colprit, beloved son Jonathan O'Dea, daughter-in-law Natalie (Banach) O'Dea, grandson Nathaniel O'Dea, and granddaughter Evelyn O'Dea. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Donna's happiest moments were spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Donna loved Blues Music and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gardening, Golden Age Westerns, and Survivor. She enjoyed simple pleasures such as family dinners and great Italian food.

In celebration of this beautiful life, a private visitation and prayer service will be held on Saturday, October 21st, 2023 in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, RI. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna's memory may be made to Lifespan Cancer Institute at https://giving.lifespan.org/LCI.
