Concetta I. Amitrano “Auntie Connie”, 97, of Providence, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (D’Ambra) Amitrano.
Connie retired from her concession stand business at the Federal Building, Providence in 1975 after 30 years of hard work. She also volunteered at Pawtuclet Memorial Hospital and donated her hand knitted booties and hats. She was honored with a National Bronze Skilled Skaters Medal in 1966 from the Roller Skating Rinks of America. She was a member of the RI Association of the Blind.
She leaves three sisters, Madeline Amitrano, Liberine Keedy and Josephine DeVoll and her loving family. She was the sister of the late John J. Amitrano, Frank Amitrano, Vito Amitrano, Nicholas Amitrano, Teresa Amitrano, Susan Greh, Angelina Amitrano and Mary Steinbrink.
Her funeral and burial will be private.
