Christina Marie May

Christina Marie (Houle) May, of Magnolia, Arkansas, formerly of Johnston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026. She was a proud United States Army Disabled Veteran whose life was defined by service, family, compassion, and an adventurous spirit.

Born to Edward and Doreen Houle, Christina was a graduate of La Salle Academy High School in Providence, Rhode Island. She proudly served her country in the United States Army as a Petroleum Fuel Handler in South Korea and later with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where she served in Exercise Support Group and SPC Lifelines, “Air Assault.” She received an honorable discharge from the United States Army and later served with the United States Army Reserve.

Christina continued a life of service to her community. She worked for the United States Postal Service in Emerson, Arkansas, where she served as Postmaster. She also worked as a substitute teacher at Emerson Elementary and High School and as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Women & Infants Hospital.

Christina was a free spirit with a gypsy soul and an enormous heart. She was an animal lover, a provider, and deeply devoted to her family. She was loving and caring toward everyone she met, always willing to lend a helping hand without complaint. Christina was an amazing listener who always tried to see the good in others. She was known for giving the best hugs and kisses and had a way of making people feel loved, welcomed, and cared for.

She found joy in the simple and memorable moments of life, playing softball, enjoying bingo and casino trips, dining out, cruising and traveling, watching horror movies, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Christina especially loved the fall season. No matter where life took her, she always made her way home to Rhode Island to enjoy Halloween and visit Salem, Massachusetts.

Christina leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her daughters, Tianna May and her companion William, and Angel May and her husband Brian; her grandchildren, Alexander May, Nevaeh, Lunamarie, Walter, and Lu-Mira; her sister Tracy and her husband James Manning; her grandmother Margaret Gliottone; her mother-in-law Melva May; her nephews Michael Bartis and his wife Brittney, and Damian Bartis; and her great-niece Alexion Bartis.

She is also survived by her military family of I Corps in Tacoma, Washington, as well as her beloved cousins Kimberly, Wendy, Nicole, Christine, Donald, and Michael, along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives she touched.

Christina will be remembered for her courage, generosity, loyalty, humor, adventurous spirit, and unconditional love. Though she may no longer be here to give one of her famous hugs or share another family adventure, the love she gave so freely will live on in all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island.
