Charles J. Squillante, Jr.

September 7, 1946 — February 5, 2023

Charles J. Squillante, Jr., 76, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday February 5, 2023.  He was the husband of Nicole (Prinz) Squillante.  Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Charles J. Squillante, Sr. and Luisa (Finocchio) Squillante.

Charlie worked for the City of Cranston, and at Post Road Sporting Goods in Warwick.

Charlie loved spending time travelling with his wife, especially going to Mexico annually. He would go with his friends here and meet up with those he met annually in Playa. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and would often go with his wife and friends to different motorcycle events. In his earlier years Charlie participated in competition shooting and received many trophys.

Charlie also had a knack for knife sharpening, he was knowledgeable in types of steel, and could tell you the quality of them. There was a student from Brown University that had Charlie show him how to make a knife, with correct steel for the blade. Charlie and his father had hunting beagles and he would often tell stories of their skills.

Charlie enjoyed his younger years with Lauren and Shannon. He loved taking them camping and would tell stories of their adventures. He had a lot of friends in his life. His neighbors would often call him the mayor of the street. He would talk to anyone anywhere when he was out and was quick to make friends. The last few years Charlie had some health challenges which impeded on his ability to do a lot. He persevered through many of these obstacles and tried to keep a positive attitude. He had his pets at home which he loved and enjoyed being there with them. He had a big heart and was welcoming to all.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Shannon Walker and her husband John and Lauren Squillante; his stepson, Ian Lacombe and his wife, Angie; his stepson, Derek Lacombe; five grandchildren, Amber, Shawn, Sophia, Lana and Edie; and six great-grandchildren.  He was the grandfather of the late Maxamillian Lacombe.
