Catherine Doonan

Catherine (Neri) Doonan, of Smithfield, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017.  She was the wife of the late William E. Doonan.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Demetrio and Barbara (Procopio) Neri. Mrs. Doonan worked for the former American Universal Insurance Company.  She also worked for Little Learners Day Care before retiring.  A loving and dedicated mother and grandmother she is survived by her two sons, William E. Doonan Jr. and his wife Teresa and Lawrence G. Doonan and his wife Stacey; two sisters, Annette Murray and Dolores Neri; and two grandchildren, Brianna and Isabella Doonan.  She was the sister of the late Salvatore, Francis and Anna Neri. Visitation will be held Tuesday Morning, August 22, 2017 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. in the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence.  Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Doonan's memory may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
