C. Nancy Irving, 72, of North Providence, RI, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 28, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family, whom she loved with all of her heart and soul. She was the cherished wife of Russell A. Irving for 40 years.
Born on December 7, 1952, in Providence, RI, Nancy was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Deary) Zavota.
In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her loving sons, Matthew J. Irving and Daniel R. Irving; her siblings: Frank Zavota and his wife, Denise, Mary Ann Smith, Martha Mahoney and her husband, John, Paula Martinelli and her husband, Jean, Geraldine Smith, and Jerry Zavota; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Among the many jobs that she loved, Nancy was a beloved medical assistant and medical secretary at the Roger Williams Medical Center. While there, she touched the lives of patients and co-workers alike. As a testament to her talents and drive, Nancy was also a licensed manicurist and a wedding cake designer. While she always loved her work, her true passion was in devoting herself to the family, and friends, that she adored throughout her life. Be it by using her contagious smile, or her talents as a baker, Nancy could find a way to brighten the darkest days for so many people.
As a devoted mother, her dedication to her sons knew no bounds and always used her incredible gifts to make their holidays, childhood, and each day of life special.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday July 8, 2025, at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 4th Street, North Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held Monday 4-7 pm..In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Reasearch Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
