Antonio Gonzales Jr 4/23/74-07/09/26

Romans 8:18 “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.”

Antonio (Tony) “House” Gonzales Jr. born 4/23/1974 entered eternal rest on 7/9/2026.

He was the beloved son of the late Antonio Gonzales Sr., and is survived by his mother Carolina Gonzales and her devoted partner Harris Shippee, his sister Jeanne Nicholson and his nephew Michael Nicholson. He was also a proud cat dad to his fur baby Bandit.

Tony grew up in the Silver Lake section of Providence. A graduate of Central High School, he was a member of the football team and participated in the school’s vocational carpentry program. Tony loved thrift shopping, getting creative in the kitchen, spending time on line with friends, and watching zombie movies. Tony was an amazing man with a heart of gold. He would give you the shirt off his back, no matter what he was going through himself, and would listen to all your problems without judgement.

He loved his mom deeply, and the bond they shared was truly special. Every Wednesday they would volunteer together at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church Food Pantry.

He was a loving brother and uncle. He shared a tight bond with his sister, who he always protected, encouraged, and cheered her on in life. His greatest joy though was his nephew Michael, who held a special place in his heart and whom he loved unconditionally and was fortunate to spend a lot of time together.

Tony was the kind of person who would show up to a cookout or holiday and immediately jump in to help however he could. He had a way of making everyone laugh, make everyone feel welcome, and bring joy to those around him. Tony was always sharing his stories, knowledge, and wisdom from his life experiences between Rhode Island and Texas.

His kindness, generosity, and genuine spirit touched so many lives, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. The family will honor and celebrate his life at a later date with a gathering of family and friends.
