Anthony S. "Ramp" Rampone Sr.
April 13, 1930 — April 30, 2012
Anthony S. Rampone, Sr. “Ramp”, 82, of North Providence, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Grande) Rampone. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Anna (Conca) Rampone.
Anthony was a foreman at the RI Board of Elections for 26 years and was the owner and operator of Ramp’s Tap in Providence for 42 years. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He leaves two sons, Nicholas A. Rampone and his wife Paulette and Anthony S. Rampone, Jr. and his wife, Maryjane; a daughter, Ann Marie Rampone and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Rianna and AJ Rampone. He was the brother of the late Henry Rampone and Betty Ann Hannan.
His funeral will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to American Diabetes Association , 146 Clifford St., Providence, RI 02903.
