ANTHONY IAROCCI, 89, of Smithfield, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Heritage Hills Nursing Centre. He was the beloved husband of the late Clare (Nero) Iarocci. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Luigi and Caroline (Rucculo) Iarocci.
Mr. Iarocci had worked for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
He leaves a son, Anthony Iarocci and his wife, Michelle; three daughters, Linda Tierney and her husband Raymond, Gail Squillante and her husband, Jerome and Karen Gutierres and her husband, Edward; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John Iarocci, Nick Iarocci, Joseph Iarocci and Rebecca Martellucci.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Visitation Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Heritage Hills Activity Fund, 80 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917.
