Anita Iacono

Anita Iacono, 96, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at The Cedars in Cranston.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Tito and Antonetta (Coia) Silvestri. Anita was the beloved wife of the late Umberto Iacono and devoted her life to her family, friends, and community.

Anita was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island for many years before her retirement. She had a lifelong love of animals and was especially fond of dogs and cats. Known for her kindness, strength, and compassion, Anita’s gentle spirit touched all who knew her. Anita loved to sit on her front porch and read books and knit. She also loved playing piano and watching her grandchildren’s orchestra and ballet performances She loved going on cruises with her friends and husband.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Anita is survived by her son, Thomas Iacono and his wife, Diane; her daughter, Elizabeth Bush; her son-in-law, Leon Samuelian; her grandchildren, Ashton Hulit, Amanda Samuelian, Brittany Morizio, Jesse Iacono, and Sara Woods; and her cherished great-granddaughter, London Rose Woods.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Samuelian; her son-in-law, Stephen Bush; and her brother, Frank Silvestri.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Maceroni Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
