Angelina Marfeo

February 14, 1924 — April 18, 2025

Angelina J. Marfeo, 101, formerly of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Marfeo. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Stella (Donofrio) DeCataldo.

Angelina was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She worked as an office clerk at A & Z Jewelry and B.A. Ballou before retiring. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, solving word search puzzles, and playing bingo with friends. Known for her quick wit and infectious laughter, she had a remarkable way of bringing people together. Her home was always the place to gather, whether to enjoy her home cooked meals (meatballs were her specialty) or to hear stories from her life. Everyone always left with full hearts and full stomachs.

As the heart of the family, she was a steadfast matriarch who led with love and strength. She will be sorely missed by all.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Grilli and her husband, the late Thomas Grilli and Rosemary Marra and her husband, Michael Marra; her cherished sister, Josephine Fritsch; six adoring grandchildren—Nathan, Nicole, Allegra, Angelina, Dawn, and Stephen; and four beloved great-grandchildren—Ella, Evangeline, Vienna, and Leo. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen Marfeo, and her siblings, Salvatore DeCataldo, Jennie Spardello, and Francis Manieri.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Cedars nursing home for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided to Angelina in her final years.

Visitation will be held Friday morning, April 25, 2025, from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Angelina’s memory may be made to the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
