Amaliya S. Avanesova

September 12, 1927 — February 23, 2017

Amaliya (Mkrtchian) Avanesova, 89, of Pawtucket, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017. She was the wife of the late Ivan Avanesov. Born in Baku, Azerbajan, she was the daughter of the late Seno and Markarit Mkrtchian. Mrs. Avanesova worked for an Oil Rifinery for many years before retiring. She was an Armenian genocide survivor of 1988 in Baku, Azerbajan. She is survived by her son, Vilen Avanesov and his wife Karine; and two grandchildren; Sergy Avanesov and his wife Courtney and John Avanesov. She was the sister of the late Gurgen Mkrtchian. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Internment will follow at North Burial Ground, Providence. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 4 until 7 p.m.
