Amalia DiGiacinto, 84, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025. She was the wife of the late Bonfio DiGiacinto and the mother of the late Emidio DiGiacinto.
Born in Forcella, Teramo, in the Abruzzo region of Italy, Amalia was the daughter of the late Nicola and Maria (DeBaptistis) DePetris.
Amalia worked as a skilled seamstress and enjoyed creating masterpieces for her family’s special occasions, especially christenings, communions, weddings, and proms.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her loving daughters, Luigia Soldà and her husband Maurizio, and Gabriella Caprio, her cherished grandchildren, Marina Soldà, Alessandro Soldà and his wife Morgan, and Frank Caprio II and his fiancée Olivia Closson; and two sisters, Emilia DeBaptistis of Italy and Elisa DiGiandomenico of Switzerland.
Visitation will be on Tuesday morning, June 3, 2025, from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Avenue, Providence. Entombment will be at St. Ann Cemetery Mausoleum in Cranston. Kindly omit floral tributes.
