Alfred J. "Sonny" White

Alfred J “Sonny” White 90 of North Providence passed away peacefully surrounded by his family September 21, 2025. He was the husband of the late Gloria A (Senerchia) White for 63 years. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Albert T and Rose Ann (Hackett) White. Alfred was the father of Kenneth White, Judy Krawiec (Mark) and Joseph White (the late Christine White) He also leaves behind his grandchildren Kyle White, Justin White, Alexandria Perry (Thomas) Jessica Krawiec (Jack Raimo) Matthew Krawiec and Ariana White. He was the brother of the late George White, Thomas White and Rose Rajotte. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Alfred was a Marine Corp Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was an Engineering Lab Supervisor at Texas Instruments for 35 years and had several inventions that resulted in 12 Patents in Washington. He played shortstop for the Texas Instruments Siberians softball team and later went on to be the Manager. He loved the Boston Red Sox and was thrilled that he got to finally witness 4 World Series wins. He loved fishing and could spend hours on the lake trying to catch the big one.

Alfred had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. The word no was not in his vocabulary. There was always an open invitation to come to his house where he enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He also enjoyed making decorative cakes for special occasions which gave him a lot of joy. He will be sadly missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday morning, September 29, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alfred’s may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
