ALFRED PICOZZI “FREDDY”, 87, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemarie (D’Alessandro) Picozzi. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Tommaso and Angelina (Cicerone) Picozzi.
Alfred was a tailor and salesman for Howard Clothes for 26 years and later for Dino’s Clothing for over 25 years. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific. He loved traveling, music, dancing and playing cards and also enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Berard and her husband, James; a brother, Pasco Picozzi; a sister, Rose Palmieri; a grandson, Christopher Berard and his wife, Lisa and his beloved great-granddaughter, Isabella Berard. He was the brother of the late Albert, Ernest, Americo and Joseph Picozzi, Frances Pagliuca, Vincenza Cirillo, Antonetta DeQuattro and Virginia Amatore.
His funeral will be held Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Visitation Sunday 2-5 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
