Alan Gasbarro

February 12, 1953 — May 16, 2023

Alan P. Gasbarro, 70, of Johnston, passed away suddenly in New Hampshire on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.  He was preceded in death by the love of his life Laurie (Angarella) Gasbarro. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfred P. and Mildred E. (Binns) Gasbarro.

He is survived by his two brothers, Frederick Gasbarro of Warwick, RI and Robert Gasbarro of North Providence, RI and his wife Elice; his sister-in-law, Andrea Crosby of North Kingstown, RI, his brother-in-law James Angarella and his wife Cindy of Surprise, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved and mentored.

Alan worked as a GIS Analyst and designer for Liberty Utilities for many years before retiring.  Prior employment included National Grid and Providence Gas among others.  Alan also served in the Rhode Island Air National guard.

Alan had a lifelong love for motorcycles, especially the sport of Observed Trials. He began competitively riding in the 1980s and contributed to the sport by working on many local, national and world competition events over the years. He served five terms on the New England Trials Association board of directors including two as President. Al was inducted into the NETA Hall of Fame in 2009.

Alan was a selfless person who freely gave his time to help both family and friends with any request that came his way.  He loved his loyal dog Biff, who he adopted when no one else would and nursed him back to health.  Alan could make a room explode with laughter with his sharp and witty sense of humor. Always smiling, always willing to help, Al was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
