Theresa A. "Tess" Monti

THERESA A. MONTI “TESS” (ZURRO), 83, of Cranston, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 14, 2013 at McCarthy Baseball Field. She was the wife of the late Vincent F. Monti. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Martini) Zurro.

Tess had worked as a secretary for the Providence School Department for 26 years before retiring.

She leaves two daughters, Dr. Diane Monti-Markowski and Joanne M. Colozzi; her three treasured grandchildren, Alicia, Jenna and Edward; two sons-in-law, Edward Markowski and Mark Colozzi and a brother, Joseph V. Zurro.

Her greatest pleasure in life was watching Eddie’s baseball and hockey games, as well as Alicia and Jenna’s Dance Performances. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and a season ticket holder for URI Men’s Basketball. She loved and was loved by all who had the good fortune of knowing her.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday June 18, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Mausoleum, St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Monday 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Bishop Hendricken High School, 2615 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI 02889.
