Salvatore J. Mollica, 84, of Providence, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Cherry Hill Manor. He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Boccanfuso) Mollica. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Carmela ( Buonanno) Mollica.
Salvatore was a Tax Auditor for the State of Rhode Island, Department of Taxation. An avid Musician, he was a member of the Fabulous Hi-Tones and was a Marine Veteran of WWII.
Besides his wife of 62 years, he leaves a son, Joseph J. Mollica; a daughter, Barbara A. Catelli and her husband, Robert; two grandchildren, Jennifer Rianna and Jason Catelli and a great-grandson, Nicholas Rianna.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pius Church, Eaton St., Providence. Visitation, Monday 5-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
