Richard Frank DeRobbio

August 8, 1935 - January 4, 2021

Richard F. DeRobbio, 85, of Cranston, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Gesualda (Castaldi) DeRobbio. Richard graduated from LaSalle Academy and received a Master's Degree in Education from Providence College. He taught English at Bristol and Portsmouth High Schools and was an Army Veteran stationed in Japan from Nov. 1955 to Sept 1958. Richard is survived by his nieces, Nina Milleta (James), Patti-Dee Cioe (Ronald), Michele Kovacs (Charles) and Sandi Manco, as well as many grand nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dr. A. Vincent DeRobbio and Madelaine DeRobbio, and the uncle of the late Tracey Laranjo. His strong faith, kindness and love of gourmet cooking lives on in his nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 16, 2020 at 10 AM in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Ave, Providence. Burial will be private and calling hours are respectfully omitted.
