Richard F. Bennett

Richard F. Bennett, 74, of North Providence, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Deborah (Antonucci) Bennett. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Victoria (Zubiaga) Bennett.
Richard was a Providence police officer for 25 years, retiring in 2007. He received his Bachelors Degree from Roger Williams University in Criminal Justice and was a United States Marine Corps reservist for six years. He was an avid golfer and follower of Providence College basketball.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Gregory S. Bennett, and Randy J. Bennett and his wife Tara; a sister, Sotera E. Bennett, and two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Bennett.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 10 AM in St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St., Providence. Burial will be private and calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to RI Special Olympics, 370 George Washington Hwy, Smithfield, RI 02917.
